Digital Forensics & Lab Support Intern

Job Title: Digital Forensics Intern

Salary Range:
$16.00 - $20.00 / hour (Commensurate with education and experience)

Company Overview: Hexordia is a leading provider of digital forensics solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Digital Forensics Intern to join our team in Oneida, NY. This role offers an excellent opportunity for current college students to launch their career in digital forensics by gaining hands-on experience in a live lab environment.

Position Summary: The Digital Forensics Intern will provide essential support to our analytical teams by generating data for training exercises, executing hardware imaging, and ensuring lab readiness. This role is directly involved in the foundational elements of the digital forensics lifecycle, including forensic dataset production, and daily lab maintenance.

Position Requisites:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to work on-site in a secure laboratory environment

Education/Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

  • Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and file structures.

  • Previous hands-on experience (including academic lab experience) with forensic imaging and digital forensics concepts process is highly preferred.

Certifications:

  • None strictly required. Forensics-related certifications are a major bonus.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Produce, simulate, and organize realistic digital artifacts and datasets to be used in events, testing/validation, and training.

  • Perform forensic imaging and acquisition of mobile devices, computers, storage media, and other digital devices using industry-standard hardware and software.

  • Maintain rigorous and accurate documentation for all physical hardware and digital evidence.

  • Support daily lab operations by organizing hardware, maintaining equipment readiness, and ensuring a clean, secure workspace.

  • Securely move, store, and track incoming records, physical devices, and storage media.

  • Provide proofreading, correction, and basic quality control.

  • Log activity and progress on tasks in project management software.
